| 17TH ANNUAL FLYIN HAWAIIAN OPEN: REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN - The 17th Annual Flyin Hawaiian Open will held on Saturday, October 2nd, and Sunday, October 3rd at Ho'omaluhia Botanical Gardens, in Kaneohe, HI. There will also be a Friday doubles round prior to the tournament on October 1st, beginning at 1:30pm. EVENT FORMAT: The course will be open for play the afternoon of Friday 10/1/10 at 1:30 pm, for doubles play. The Flying Hawaiian Open is on Saturday and Sunday 10/2 & 10/3. Players Meeting is at 9:30am each morning, tee off at 10:00am. We will play two rounds of 18 holes on Saturday on the “A” course and two rounds or 18 holes on Sunday on the “B” course with Awards ceremony at 3:30 pm. A late registration fee of $15.00 will be strictly enforced for all participants who register after September 10, 2010. Registrations postmarked 9/10/10 will not be charged a late fee. REGISTRATION FORM GATE OPENINGS: The gate is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is closed at 4:00 p.m. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, cars with prior permit applications or car passes may use the later gate opening from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and exits only are from 9:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. Camping: Permits are required and must be validated at the Visitor Center. Camping is available from 9:00 a.m. Friday through 4:00 p.m. Monday. |

July Monthly: A big Mahalo to all the players who came out for the July monthly. I counted 30 players! We raised $250 and HDGA put in an additional 100.00 for a total of $350.00 for school supplies for Waimanalo Elementary school. Also, a big thanks to the Honolulu fire department, across the street from the school who helped retrieve about 6 discs from the school roofs at the end of the day. Results from the event will be posted shortly. |
| RIO UH Disc Golf Expereince Holds it's first event! A big Mahalo to the 25 players that came out Sunday, December 10, 2009, to raise funds for the Susan G. Komen charity!! Thanks go to Dave Grimaldo for creating the RIO UH Disc Golf Experience club which made this event possible on the Manoa campus. We predict this is the first of many DG events at UHM. A hui hou! | The last monthly of 2009, our December monthly, was a Fundraiser for the Angel Tree program. It was held at Maunawili Elementary School in Kailua, on December 6th. We would like to thank all who participated. We were able to raise $300, plus another $100 from HDGA, for a total of $400 which will go towards the purchase of Christmas gifts for those participants in the Angel Tree program. A special Mahalo to Pastor Justin and the Eastside Hope Chapel for their donation! |
| The 9th Annual Hawaii State Championships (2009):The 9th Annual Hawaii State Championships was held October 24th & 25th on the island of Maui. The event was played on Maui's premier course (Poli Poli). Congratulations to Maui's own Shea Harper the new State Champion.
